lexus v8 running gas

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
I checked those guys out a fair few years back when I was toying with the idea of going gas and was told at that stage there was no street kit developed for the liquid LPG injection as the development cost was far too high and the idea although it worked was not going to get off the ground. Interrested in an update if anyone has checked it out recently.

One thing they did point out to me with LPG as a performance fuel was that you were pretty much limited to 7000 rpm as the fuel has fairly slow burning characteristics which prevented revving much higher at all. Just something to bear in mind.

if ur limited to rpm. y not try make it produce all its power below the 7k mark.
im trying to do a bit of research into this company atm
http://www.gas-injection.com/index.html bill from gas injection says at this point of time they can deliver a product that can supply a 5litr v8 @ 10psi.

so far this sounds like a pretty good idea. with no gas converters or gas displacing the oxygen in the intake.

urty

it's a "slow burning" fuel because it has a RON well over 100.

advance your timing and/or up your static CR (or boost) to take full adavntage of it, and you'll find it's the same as petrol.

That gas injection technology stuff looks pretty good but you won't get the cooling properties of injecting it as a liquid.

Still from their website its producing more power than the petrol equivelent. Although it would be good to know if they are comparing it to 92 or 98 octane petrol?

Pro240c is correct its a slower burning fuel that needs timing and high compression (or boost) ajustments made to take full advantage.

Don't forget AVGAS is also slower burning than normal fuel and using it with no changes to your engine it will be slightly down on performace aswell, contrary to the rumours that people spread (ie I put avgas in my car and it went really fast)

Although the gas today is nowhere near as good as it used to be!
They have altered the butane/propane mix (leaning more towards the propane and less butane)

yeah, some goood points fella's i will post my emails i have had with bill so u can have A read.

hi, i was jsut refered to ur website but i cant find exactly what u produce.

do u have a website were it lists parts, ie injecters.

do u have products that can supply enough fuel for forced induction v8's.

were can i find more information on your product.

cheers

chris

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your enquiry, unfortunately at the moment we do not have any retail product available. I have largely completed the research and beta testing, and am at the commercialisation stage. I am actively seeking investors to assist with the commercialisation of the product. If you have any contacts regarding investment, I would appreciate any assistance because the product has a huge potential and provides significant advantages on the latest fuel injection systems over any other gaseous injection systems I have been able to locate. We plan to provide an excellent return on investment for any interested parties.

We could supply a 5 litre V8 to about 10psi boost.

Best Regards

i wish i could help with the invester part too, but i'm still a student. my project is a supercharged lexus 4litre v8 running solely on gas. do you have a rough price of wat your product is going to cost? . say if i actualy were to get 1 of these kits and my car is upgraded in the future are u going to be able to supply me with the equipment for it.

i am in perth, maybe u should aproach "bluefire" there 1 of the best gas servicing and fitters here in perth. i think they are a gas research dealer tho.

cheers for answering any way

chris

Hi Chris,

To convert the V8 from scratch would be approximately $2,800 straight gas. We would only supply a kit to a licensed installer, which we will organise when the commercialisation happens. The Bluefire group of companies own Gas Research and they also import a Prinz gas injection system but I don’t think it is ready for release.

Best Regards

Bill Campbell.

there ya go fellas

i'm supprised this GAS 1UZ thread exists i was going to start one.

yes i also contacted bill regarding a similar idea when i was going to put a 4.0 ford six into my XF(the motor is pictured in they're text) however i got the exact same peply" seeking investors etc".

my car that i plan on dropping in the lexus into is already on duel fuel so i was hoping to keep the lexus on duel fuel which i would LIKE to use the GAS RESEARCH throttle boddy as it should still look stockish but the impco set up would be simpler and cheaper but probably look ugly. and these days as my car is 1987 it needs to runn a computer controlled gas mixture run by the lexus computer? not sure how it works and don't care yet. mine will be NA

the PRINS (do a google search) had a similar LIQUID lpg injection set up as bill is trying to set up but costs LOTS also.

if i was going to run a non intercooled supercharge/turbo set up on gas or petrol injected or not i would run methanol/water injection. ()current ZOOM magazine has a good article(NO.84?)

hey, im still thinking of using a gas injection system on my soarer when i get my loan. my main goal is to beat my bro in laws gas hp record. which is only like 230hp. in fact if i could get some money, i would like to double it lol.

i dont know if you've seen the red XF falcon with 351 cleveland motor running twin turbos and on straight gas, its been featured in many magazines, it would be making tripple that.
what motor and car was your brother in laws and was that flywheel or rear wheel horsepower?

of course you would have seen the supercharged soarer running two gas research carbs and also using injection for either petrol or methanol(can't remember as it was over a year ago)

oh sorry i meant not like the hp record for aus. its just a small comp thjat was held in perth and there was only like 3 gas cars in the comp.

guess what!! i am just about to buy what i've been talking about building, an XF falcon with lexus V8(its auto though) its running duel fuel using a complex(probably OMVL brand, definately not a LANDI )converter and a gas ring from a VN commodore 5Litre V8(just so happens to have same intake tubing size). seems to run ok as i went for a test drive yesterday
