I was just wondering who had this TC and what do you think about it? I have read a few threads, but more info the better!

Hello Redphoenix,

Recently I got a lot of refers from local Lexus dealers. We also had few GS owners with PI TC couldn't pass smog so Lexus dealers refer them to me for the TC. That is an honor getting refers from Lexus dealer for our TC. Not too long ago we had a customer referred by the same Lexus dealer with PI TC slipping with only two months of installation. So he was very happy with ours once changed.

Our TC is only $179 vs. other brand is about $750. 99.99% of Lexus range from 240 to 500 hp and our TC can handle them without problems. Do more reading on them and hopefully other will reply too.

I would expect the fuel mileage would decrese slightly but not too much. Its all depending on your right foot. Normal driving would not see too much drop but with a heavy right foot, that is a different story. However, over all fuel mileage would not change much.

I would like to hear from others that have done a Lextreme rebuilt 2800 high stall TC install on a sc430. Please provide info on the launch of the vehicle, gas mileage, driving issues and install problems etc. I'm very interested in this upgrade but would like to make sure it is worth the effort and cost.

I just put Dave's TC in my 91' LS and can give positive testimony. I didnt get the standard 2800rpm but instead a custom 3000rpm. I got mine put in for around $350 from my local shop (who could not figure out how to "twist" the TC around the input shaft so i ended up going up there and sliding it in myself and it worked fine. It made a very weak improvement initially but I noticed that the ECU plays a role in this mod. The ECU learned over the course of a week... getting stronger shift points every day. The weirdest aspect of this mod (for me) was the unknown and that was the transmission kick down cable, I had one that had WAY WAY too much line pressure and my car ran rich, bad idle, and slammed into drive and reverse from a stop. But once the pressure was correct I noticed that instead of "pushing" you into gear under WOT the TC will "Throw" you into gear with clutch-like fury. I have much looser line pressure and it seemed to do the trick... this cable seems to be the way to fine tune the TC/trans. in general. I just learned about the kick-down cable yesterday so I am no expert! Did anyone else have this similar problem with the TC install?

I have the Lextreme TC with 2800 stall rate in my SC400. I don't have the problem like you have. I just feel the tranny responds a lot quicker and jerks a little bit more, but not too harsh, which is perfect for my taste. The stock TC is lazy and boring.
