please refer to post on throwing sc belt..

not infront on car at moment, and am sure sc pulley is in alignment..but just in case...:eek: it ain't...(when i re re check tomorrow)

how does one remove/move up/down spindle the sc front drive pulley..?

the sc is a m112 (new) from a jag.it has an 8 rib pulley fitted and no obvious way of removing..i assume its an interference fit...do i need a special puller etc?i have no wish to bugger sc in trying..

Here is a few pics of the front. It shows a nut that probably holds the pulley down im guessing with a keyway. Maybe the bolt is missing on yours? If you can see where the bolt threads in, im pretty sure all thats needed is a simple 2 jaw puller with maybe some help from a torch. hope this helps

no nut..press fit..read that right up..very interesting...

heres a quote.

Changing the Pulley

Ok so now I've estimated what size pulley will give me what sort of boost and and perhaps an indication of what sort of power. Next trick is to figure out how to remove the Eaton pulley and stick another one on. Why is it we often buy a Soarer then find out all about them, or try to remove a pulley and then find out how to remove them properly? I gave it a go with a 3 jaw puller and nothing but tears - only then do I decide to check the net and low and behold there are the answers - and it ain't no three jaw puller!
The pulley can't be changed for a smaller one on the factory Jag supercharger. The pulley is wide, and it goes over the aluminium snout of the supercharger - designed from the factory to stop tampering. Eaton also press fit the pulley with a 20 ton press. The Biggest meanest 3 jaw pulley won't touch it - shaft damage, pulley damage - it's all been done.

but it then goes on to say one can buy a puller to do the job..$150ish..bet i cant get one here in the uk!!

Dam thats some serious engineering from the factory. I know this may sound archaic but what about running a 6 rib belt on the 8-rib pulley? Just let the other 2 ribs ride along?

ALso, since you said the stock pulley is a bit chewed up, what about sticking the entire unit on a lathe and machine it down smaller, or cut it down, reweld and the mill?

Have you tried heating the pulley up and the try the jaws of life? Lol

ok..it is in the correct place..so other than it is an 8 rib pulley and hense looks amateur it will do..(untill i feel the need to change it)

pulley is a1 shape..
