I messed something up

I changed the plugs, wires, caps and rotors on my 91 ls400 and it started up just fine without any of the covers on but after I put the covers back on it didnt wanna start so i took off all the covers and noticed that i had cut one of the wires by accident somehow. so i got new wires and put them on and when i went to start the car I heard a kinda pop and there was smoke coming out of the intake. Ive checked the firing order more than 10 times and everything is right. I even took out all the plugs and dried them because a friend told me that might fix it but it didnt. PLEASE can somebody help me

A pop out of the intake says crossed plug wires.

What do u mean crossed?? I checked the firing order and i know its right. How would they be crossed?
