how to identify transmission

hello again peoples!
just wondering something
i was cleaning what i believe to be my r154 transmission the other day and then it dawned on me that i didnt see an r154 stamped anywhere on the transmission.. mind you i didnt see anythign stamped anywhere on the tranny but i was just wondering.. could i have maybe missed it?
is there an identifying mark on the r154 transmission? if so where is it? how do i know for sure what kind of transmission i have?

Toyota never puts marks on any of its manual transmissions.

Just google R154 and you'll see how big it is compared to a W58

I had the same question recently and did a search and found this.

The box they label Supra is the W5x series (I believe also same as the Hilux G5x series - can someone confirm?). The box labelled Supra Turbo is the R154.

the shifter on the R-154 is quite bizzare, The one on my turbo supra was not curved like that.

upon further inspection.. i believe i have an r154 tranny.. first problem solved.. i hope there arent any other differences.. like i hope there arent many different types of r154.. if i remember correctly.. the t50 found on the corollas and stuff have a whole slew of differences between the many different t50's out there.. hope it's not the same for the r154!
