head swap

Hi.
Im building a 1uz 1993 and I wanted to improve the flow in the head (early engine) because they do not flow as I would like. I heard about a swap with VVTi head Because apparently it flow better. i dont want to run the VVTi so I would not use it. So first question, is that gonna work ?. What parts on the head is different of the early head? (Intake manifold, coil pack, cam cover, etc?) It is possible to put early cam gear to not use the VVTi by considering that the head is not supplying the oil? Any Other mod to not use VVTi? Any Other mod in this swap?

1uz head doesn't flow well? that's news to me.

VVTI heads flow 230 out of the box. Non-vvti heads max out at probably around 140. HUGE DIFFERENCE

I've done a little checking as best I can ascertain the head should fit and you should be able to use the stock UZ cams, but a cam upgrade at the same time wouldn't be a bad idea as would springs.

You may well be a pioneer in this so have a good look and let us know.

If you swap in a Vvti block at the same time it would be really easy.

Justen if you're reading this, didn't you fool around with this at one time?

Thought you'd tried to put a set of VVTi heads on an early block and were looking to rig an external oil line to get the VVTi going?
