fired the supercharger up for first time..seems ok..

question..this is a back yard job..using sock ecu (only looking for 6-7 psi..have rising rate aftermarket fuel regulator fitted..

what psi (fuel) am i looking for at idle and on say 6psi??
thanks

easy - there should be 20inHg or more at idle. if you have 6psi, something bad is happening. I don't remember the nominal static pressure off the top of my head, but I think its around 43psi, and flow is varied via PCM (pulse width modulation) - essentially turning the injector on and off quickly. If the pressure falls below the critical value, the fuel won't atomize properly. When you use a rising rate regulator, you are basically using a port from your manifold to restrict the return to up the pressure. How much? - Really should use a wideband o2 to set it it at max load, maybe 12:1 AF to ensure it never gets lean under boost.

I would start around 40-45psi with the vaccuum line off which should net between 38-42psi at idle with the line on. With a 1.1 regulator this would give you 46-51psi at 6psi.(40+6=46 and 45+6=51) with a Rising rate you will get more. I try and avoid going over 60psi on stock fuel pumps. Toyotas tend to run super rich at WOT , often down at 10:1 so as long as you have some duty cycle left in your injectors you should be ok up to about 6psi as long as you have the larger 250cc (dark blue) injectors. Cheers
