Fuel dampener deleted?

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
am i right is saying the fuel dampener!! works in the same way as FPR ? so i think as long as you have a FPR..........you can delet the dampener!

please put me right if im not.......:/

The fuel dampener minimises the pulses from the pump, it doesnt work like a regulator. Since I am using a Supra pump, I am wondering if I can remove it ok...

Many of the guys from Supraland run without them, but I decided to spend the extra time, trouble & money to install one in my Supra's fuel system.

As you say, it dampens the hydraulic pulses from the injectors banging open & shut, so IMO it serves a very useful purpose. Anyone who has quickly banged a faucet shut in their home and heard the pipes rattle throughout the house, can see the value of having one of these. Personally, I wouldn't run without one.

(On the Supra) I modified the stock rail to be fed from both ends with a center return, then used the old FPR port for the PD.

That's a nice garage workbench you got there!

Hehe, the wife even let me use her oven the other day to heat up the water bridges so I could pull those unneeded nipples out, and I had my Richwood manifold in the kitchen sink last night to make sure there weren't any metal particles left in it.

It's just one of those things that Mr. Toyota, Mr. Honda and Mr. OEM in general, include with their fuel systems, and given the pressure on their engineers to cut costs wherever possible, there must be a good justification for keeping these PD's.

Nearly every aftermarket fuel system I've seen on a hotrod "doesn't" have one, although there's usually a place on the rail(s) for it.

I would guess you'll hear more injector noise than before? That's been a comment from other Supra owners running aftermarket fuel systems.

If you dual entry the rails then you can happily delete it as i have done....couldn't say if you'll have issues with just a single entry as make for a very long fuel path?
