Engine Cradle

Anyone in here have your engine on a ENGINE CRADLE? I am thinking about getting one but dont know which one would work. I would like install the transmission into the engine too and possible fire up the engine on a stand. Any feeback will be greatly appreciated.

i think the weight mustn't be longer than the craddle, or it will unbalance it (i don't know if you follow me?)

as for starting the engine on the craddle, i don't know what type of craddle you plan to use but usually you can't since it's bolter via the transmission bell housing bolts.

I found some one is selling this grand daddy craddle and I am thinking about making one of them for my engine. It looks awesome....

I think its called an engine hoist..

I've got my engine on the red stand as in the above pic. I would not try to start it on this though, even though the flywheel is un-obstructed. This stand it too high off the ground and has a too high centre of gravity. My engine is just the block on the stand st the moment by the stand would hold tha whole engine.
