early vs late crank

anyone compared the late 1uz crank to an early one? any differences besides ~$200?

I have... early is heavier and stronger. Is that how much it is new? WOW....

As far as I am aware the early crank just has bigger weights to balance with the heavier rods.

Got 5 cranks here,
1 is in the test engine....

Had a quick look... 1 looks alittle different in castings..
Weigh the same

the one on far left, has different casting marks, and where the machining finishes up close to the journal radius's the depth from maching to bottom of casting is deeper..
i would say thats the difference??

all cranks came out of heavy rod engines.

sounds like a good point 200grams of each would make a bit of a difference
