Ok so the local junkyard has a early ls400 (has the smaller front calipers so that's 94 or older right?)
I'm thinking I may take the heads off of it to work on getting ported as my spare set so I don't have to take the car of the road while they're being worked on. Probably get port work done, swap in cams, springs, and the ported heads all at once.
These should bolt right onto the 97 1uzfe block correct? any issues to watch out for? I've seen people talk about putting VVTi heads on the older 1uz block but nothing about putting the older heads on a newer block.
If the junkyard gives a good enough price, I may just buy the whole motor to build up as a spare. Are there any issues with getting the 97 electronics/harness to bolt up to the older motor if I do get the entire motor and build it?
