Okay... so it seems as though my car is a problem magnet.

I googled this and it seems as though others have had the same problem...

Living in canada it's really cold here, and last night, i decided to take the lexus around the corner to the store, it wouldn't open properly, i pulled again, and the door wouldn't close, it would just bounce open... now stupid me, wondered if i could see the mechanics of the door mechanism, so i did the same thing to the passengerside door, because i figured it wouldn't sucumb to the same problem, well I was wrong, now neither my passenger side or driver side door close, and i am now leaving it in the garage, and my summer car is sitting in the snow... any ideas short of pulling the door pannels off to reset the door handle (wich is what i've grown to learn this problem is)

Well, next day has come and guess what? It's all good now, the doors seemed to release and it's all okay now... must have just been far too cold, so if this happens to anybody else, just let the car warm up, and it should be okay!

Is your car the LS400? Actually, the LS400 has less door problem than the SC400. The SC400 tends to have the rod that connected to the lock keep broken. It's a skinny rod.

Yeah it's the ls400 and it just fixed itself. /shrug
