On the first gen ls's,there are brake pad wear indicator sensors.I had to resurface my rotors and noticed wires attached to one end of my pad.the "sensors" are nothing more than a single wire that is looped which creates a closed circuit(per pad).When the pads wear down far enough,it will allow the rotor to eat away a part of this wire at its breaking point...causing the wear indicator light to come on.you could either pull the bulb out or cut the wires,strip the end,attach them together and close the circuit..or you can go to Lexus and buy new ones for about 80 bucks.your choice.I just pulled the bulb on one of my LS.
