Can an alternator plug be wired from a 1st gen into a 2nd gen ls? in order to use a 1st gen alternator?

I think from 93 and up have different plug. The earlier models have round plug and later models have oval plug. However, you can switch the plug (female part from the alternator) and rear cover over. We just did this last weekend for a friend.

Yes your right. I went ahead and switched the female plug and worked perfect. Thanks

What's involved to switch the plugs, is it just a bolt-on job?

Jeremy, it is a matter of stripping and reconnecting the wires.
