Plenty of Hiluxes have their alternator where the air conditioning compressor lived.

Have a search.

I think their is a commercially available bracket in NZ.

Whelp I can't find it anywhere and I'm pretty good at searching...
I did find a picture posted up by Cribbj, but no info about where it's from. I'll just contact him by pm Thanks for the info that people have actually done this.

I did this for mine, you could do something similar to mount it on the other side.
The alt is from a different car (Ford Falcon) as my 1UZ didnt come with one.
I couldnt find a 6PK belt short enough, so im using two 3PK's.
