99 ECu with 98 Engine?

Can you use a 99 GS400 ECU with an engine from a 98 GS400?

Do u know if the two ECU (model number) is the same? I think its most likely would be ok.

AFAIK,sensors etc. are identical on both year engines. Are you installing a 98 engine into a 99 GS400?

Putting 98 engine from GS400 into a 96 Toyota Tacoma. :burnout:

I'm pretty sure it would work. Part numbers are different in the parts catalog, however when looking over the wiring diagrams and two harnesses I have here, they are identical. (98 & 99 GS400 harness)

Do you have a work around for the imobilizer? You'll need a key or send the ECU in to have the prior programming removed.
