I have been searching for the cure to this problem. I swapped the engine from a 92 sc400 and got everything running right minus the transmission. Transmission engagement in reverse and drive seems great no slipping. Double and triple checked the VSS to the ecu was wired and good continuity between it and the ecu. would I need to do anything with the 3 wire guage cluster to make it function. I do not have the o/d and pwr switch on the shifter hooked up or wired in. would any of that cause the not shifting from first issue?
fluid was flushed and filled with a new filter after flush less than .3 miles ago still the same issue.
