Hello from here in England

First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for contributing to such a great forum, It is so great to see that there are people out there that are properly building up Japanese motors, rather than throwing expensive bolt ons together and finishing it off with a huge turbo like a lot of the Supra guys I talk to.

I’ve been a member here for quite some time, but I haven’t really done a lot of reading here until very recently.

Basically what I am hoping to do is fully restore and build a MK3 Toyota Supra myself so I can actually decide whatever or not I want to go into the car trade for a living and if so, I’ll know exactly what field I would want to go into.

For motors, I’m basically looking at either a 1UZ or a 7M-GTE. I’m looking to get to as close as 500RWHP as possible, but there are two problems: It’s got to be done as cheaply as possible and it’s go to be done on pump gas.

Now, I think I read somewhere that the 1UZ can actually make 500rwhp on stock internals, is there any truth to this? If so, what other medications would be required to get to 500RWHP on pump.

Could this figure be reached affordably using a Supercharger?

What turbo would be recommended for 500RWHP on the 1UZ

Would It be worth while considering going for a twin turbo setup?

Is 500RWHP on pump gas even possible on a 1UZ?

I think that’s it for now, I’m sure I’ll remember some more later

Thanks for the help

if you want to do it really cheap, then use a 7M-GTE, since it was built with turbo in mind, hence the "T" in its model name. the 1UZ might take 500rwhp if your really good at tuning, on stock internals, but thats pushing it. but you can most certainly make 500rwhp on the 7M with a turbo, expecially in the UK, where you have much higher quality fuel than in the states.
