I'm looking to swap a 2uz-fe into my SC300 as the title says.

Reason: My friend is offering his TRD Supercharger for FREE:D . So I feel like this would be awesome, to have legal boost in my car. (He got the TRD kit for free too when working with Toyota on trophy truck).

So, to start off, I have never done a swap before. I am only going to pursue this with the help of my friends over the summer. One who's job is fabricating trophy trucks all day and has experience swapping engines (but only domestics).

So where do i start? I'm looking to pick up a 2uz with low mileage for probably around 1K? Then some 1UZ rods to replace the 2UZ rods. I plan on matting this engine to my w58 for now, so I'll need to pick up an adapter plate from lextreme? Are their certain components that wont work with the 2JZ on th 2UZ?

When it comes to electronics like the ECU, I guess i'll have to pick up a SC400 cluster? I'm kinda lost when it comes to the ecu harness though.

Are my questions too broad? I'd like to hear some feedback thanks!

Welcome to Lextreme, and what a deal; a free TRD setup!

Smart move to change out the wimpy 2UZ rods immediately; they won't stand the boost, especially if you decide to run a smaller pulley on the charger.

Your W58 won't stand the torque of a supercharged setup for very long either. You can either plan to replace it whenever it breaks, or go with an R154 setup from the get-go, or possibly a Tremec. Some guys are currently venturing down the Tremec road, but I don't recall if anyone actually has one running.

I would think, at minimum, you'll need a late model SC400 harness and ECU - one that'll be setup for the VVTi engine, because the 2UZ will have the direct fire ignition, and coils on plugs.

If it were me, I'd be tempted to forget the 2UZ motor and use a late model 1UZ with VVTi, to have a lighter setup, and so that the SC400 ECU will be talking to its intended engine.

I would also consider upgrading the fuel system the "right" way. IIRC, TRD designed this package as an add-on, in order to cause minimum disruption to most owners, so they did some odd things, such as including a 9th injector to spray fuel into the intake only when on boost, etc. I would think if you upgraded the fuel system, and the MAF together, where the ECU wouldn't get too confused, you could have a very sweet running package.

Good luck & please keep us updated!
