Ok guys. soon I'm going to be getting some rods and pistons. I'm already spraying it. But I'm going to up the shot and eventualy boost it. Would it be worth getting the cams. And has anyone ported the factory heads. If so what can I expect. $$$
1uz heads wont fit on a 2uz. Hey I just ordered cams and they should be here soon I will let you know how they "feel" in the seat. I got stage 2 by the way.

if you want to save money try this.
match port the heads to the intake/ and gasket... no ridges where they join.
pull the valves out the head, and stick your finger in on the short turn.. ( opersite side to where the valve guide is.)
that ridge on the short turn, carefully grind / buff, sand it off, and blend the surface to be smooth and no bumps.
put some performance cams in the engine...
stage 2 , stage 3 are just names.. and mean nothing, get some specs to post
i see Justen used OEM cams to 16 psi...
oem spec is 232 /228 @ 110 off the top of my head.
just run them, BUT put some heavier springs in
std ones are 43lb install
get something of the shelf that goes 70-80 lbs , and u will be fine to 10,000 rpm
Funny the cam specs are very similar to my pushrod twin turbo Ford ..
With 114 LSA, ... Turbo cam...
Changing cams is a big job setting cam clearance..
