Started around 6:30 am this morning. Just two of us. spf_lexus and myself. we attached the burnt engine car first. Took us around 2.5 hours to get the engine/transmission out. The donor car took us around 1.5 hours. By 10:30 am we have two engines out from two LS400. Since the donor car had bad transmission so we have to swap out that too. That took us around 45 minutes. That last 3 hours was installing the 200K motor in a 100k body. We swap out the complete engine/harness/ecu/ignitor from the USDM to a CDM (Canadian DM).
The moment came with the engine fire right up. Initially we had our shift linkage in the wrong position and after few adjustments we got it. I didnt put enough transmission oil in the tran and the car wasnt moving at all. After 5 qt. The sleeper was awaken.
This car was given to me because the engine caught on fire and mechanics stated it was not fixable. Spent $550 for a dead transmission LS400 (1991) and 8 hours hard work. Bam!...... This car is for my little niece graudation gift. She will be driving it this in September (UCI). I drove the car home for few days just to make sure it will be reliable. Mega thanks to Shawn P. F.
