i'm new to this forum. i am building a gt40 replica and want to use a lexus dohc engine. seems like everyone is talking about the 1uz engine. what's the real difference in the two? is one better than the other? i plan on leaving mine N/A with 8 throttle body injectors, p&p heads, cams, not too wild though. thanks for your help.

not unlimited. but i am building only one engine and want to maximize my effort. haven't found any used 4.3l engines. are they hard to find? expensive? i will put out the bucks for the eight throttle body injectors. gt40 have to have that. thanks for the help.

3uzfe is about 10 times as expensive as 1uzfe. If your budget is limited, then i possible stroke or mix and match would be the key. Mix and match means 4.3 block with 1uzfe heads. Buying the block by itself is cheap, but a compete engine is very expensive.

Weight might be an issue if you want the 4.7. I think the initial poster was asking about the 4.3 aluminum block. the 4.7 crank only increase very slight in cubic.

Going 8 ITB's you will need to go aftermarket standalone ecu.

Better add another 2k+ to your budget.

If you want to retain auto you will need to add another 1k for an auto controller.

This motor and quality performance is not cheap.

i am using a porsche g50 transaxle. i do want the alum block. is there any difference in the heads of the 1uz and the 3uz? yeah, i know i have to buy a stand alone electronics. got no choice. need the 8 throttle bodies.
