Hey, new to the forum. Just bought a 69 KE10 corolla. I would love to fit a 1uz though the engine bay looks extremely small. Has anyone done this conversion? I know about the flea, though from memory thats a 74, and i'm not sure if it has a bigger bay or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Motor is about 620mm from the bellhousing flange to the tip of the crank pulley I think.

Search this site, there are pics posted of the sizes.

if i were you id allow 700 wide by 700 long to fit the engine. if you plan on removing the air con and power steer stuff, that will shorten the motor a bit, and you could modify the firewall to make the engine sit further back aswell. the trans tunnel will probably have to be chopped up too to fit the geabox. that, and a hell of a lot of chassis strengthening (seam welding or roll cage or both).
summary. a lot of cutting and welding and engineering but in the end it will be damn quick.

I've seen the KE and it's pretty narrow between the towers. I'd be more inclined to do a 3SGTE or a 1MZFE V6 in that case. The 1MZFE would be ideal because it's both narrow and short. Good luck. I'd love to see some pictures some time.
Flea.
