1UZ in a Bug

Do u guys think a 1UZ with Porsche 915 tranny would work on this? Street Legal Bug

The short answer is no.

The engine is too long compared to the VW unit. I'd guess our engine is 300mm (1') longer and probably weighs arond 120kg ((260lb) more than the VW before adding water. It would do wicked wheelstands.

You would also need to mount a radiator up front. That would help control the wheelies.

I think a Manx' value is in it being VW powered or at least having a boxer engine.

Not really practical, and probably not drivable if it was.
Seen a couple of buggies made with Subaru WRX motors mated to a scoobie FWD transaxle mounted in the back. Even they wheelstand.

They have an adapter plate to do it. I would make a pretty wild little buggy.

This has to be the ultimate quad bike, seen at the New Zealand National motor show last month, built by the local Subaru dealers, it has an Sti 2l auto with IRS , it would be fine for you as a beach Buggy ,even better with a 1uz up front.
