1uz-fe into ls430?

So I have an 01 ls430 with the 3uzfe, well the motor blew up and I cant really afford a 3uz to swap into it. I can get a 1uz for MUCH cheaper, I know the 1uz and 3uz are damn near the same motor (same block and all that) with a different bore. My question is...Will a 98-00 1uz-fe VVTi work with all of my ls430 3uz electronics sense it is vvti also?

p.s. ya ya ya I know its a smaller motor but im in between a rock and a hard place at the moment money wise, figure I could put the 1uz in (if it works) and a bit down the road when work picks up maybe boost the 1uz and give it some real power.

From what I have seen all the sensors are the same. We have run 3uz on 1uz VVti management with limited issues. There may be the odd bracket or bolt hole that wont line up. The rear water bridge is quite different but you may be able to solve this by swapping the 3uz one onto it. I would suspect if you pretty much just fitted the 1uz long block with 3uz externals on it you would be fine. Cheers

Awesome, thats the answer I was hopping for! I am planning on using the 1uz long block and swapping all the 3uz accessories over to it just like you said.
