Hello chaps, new member, first time poster etc...
Anyways, currently run a Defender 110 Station Wagon with a big diesel, but fancy returning it to V8 power.
I have chance of a 1uz-fe engine from an LS400 and have decided it would be a good option.
A bit of googleing shows its been done a few times with Land Rover gearboxes, specifically the R380, one of which I have on the shelf, but I can't find much detail asides a few youtube videos.
Can anyone give me any more info on the conversion with a manual box, or indeed if anyone has successfully adapted the engine onto a ZF 4HP22 autobox I'd be very interested to hear about it.
I know the V8 has the Yota autobox attached, but I've never really liked driving Jap autos whilst I get on well with the ZF boxes.
I don't mind going back to a manual, but would rather keep the drivetrain behind the engine Land Rover stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
