1998 Prado Conversion

Well,
I am back.
With a different idea.
I am about to purchase a 1998 Prado Auto as I have had to drop my beloved 4Runner conversion.
Base question.
Has any one done a 1uz conversion on one of these. I found a few who have done it but have not been able to gleen much info out of it.
I do have a r series 5 speed manual with a manual transfer case coupled up with KS racing kit.
I have pedal box's, lines, Tailshafts you name it and from what I have found out, The Prado is the same chassis as a 4Runner.
Any comments are welcome.

I can't answer your questions, but I'll ask one of you.

Have you checked the legality of the swap?

I would think a Prado would post-date any 1UZ you could get your hands on at a reasonable price, thus making it technically non-compliant with the our emission laws.

Thought it worth checking that you are sure it will all be OK.

Hi Zuffen,
I am kicking myself in the butt as I forgot about the Prado's when I started on the 4Runner. Dammit. LOL
I am very certain that it will pass emissions. Running on 98 Octane.
I will check this out and if not, VVT would be the go.
Some fine tuning should see me through. Also the vehicle I am looking at is dual fuel and using a vapor injection kit should not be a problem.
Just putting it together.
