+1, you should "T" into a vacuum line and put keep a gauge on it and drive it around. I'm pretty sure boost is directly related to the amount of load that's placed on the engine. You won't likely hit boost until you place a greater load on it.

    Fuel Pressure Regulator question

Hey, thanks for the input. As far as the tune, there's a performance shop that's a few miles away that's pretty good. The tuner charges a pretty reasonable rate, as well as I plan on eventually taking over and setting up my own tune. I don't plan on just screwing with the AFPR, I just would like...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator question

I am still the process of my build however I seem to have some cash and would like to purchase an Aeromotive adjustable FPR, which can be referred to as an afpr. The real question is which one. The reason why I ask is because I am going to be eventually running a Megasquirt and bigger injectors...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Hey, thanks for the tip, I've definitely started to get better at it as I had no experience with a tig before. Now I am starting to get better with shielding and moving the bead. I did find that mild to mild or stainless to stainless is easier to do then stainless to mild that's for sure. I am...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Yes, a 92' Lexus LS400. It is not Galvanized, but Aluminized steel, which is what most exhaust shops use to build custom exhaust. I was a bit worried about the mild aluminized steel, but it seems as others have built their cars with it. I definitely need to build a T fitting to allow a...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Thank you for the clarification, I'm a bit dense sometimes too. I think I will be able to achieve close to 12" of straight pipe before the MAF, but then right after the MAF it does a 90*. I have been basically copying another fellas design and he seemed to have success with the MAF setup like...

    Critique my single turbo headers

That makes more sense, so instead of worrying about supporting the flex coupler, I will make a support bracket for the turbo and one for the flex coupler, that should suffice, right? Sounds good, I was worried about the 90* so close might not give air enough room to flow after the sensor, but...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Well, if I have to start over it's going to be after these pipes melt with everything around it. If I build a new set, I'll be sure to run (2) 1.75" to a 2.5" merge. Do you mean brackets from the manifolds "crossover" to the block? Or are you referring to the turbo? I definitely am going to...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Well your correct the chop saw nor tig welder were free, nor the wire, gas, grinder, or other consumables. As far as the steel goes, everything that you've seen was made with 2.0" aluminized steel tubing. The reason being it my dad had (5) 2' sticks that He had left over from a another project...

    Critique my single turbo headers

Hey, thanks for the reply. I appreciate the insight, I need a fair amount. I'm not entirely sure what lobster style bending is. I chose to use straight piping and wagiri construction because it was free, as I had all the supplies. I called Midas to ask if they'd bend me something and they wanted...

    Critique my single turbo headers

That is the advice I was so desperately looking for. I just so happen to have 2 3/8" piping at my house, I will try that and see what I can come up with. Thanks again, I appreciate the help. P.s. Your Celica is badass.

    Critique my single turbo headers

It won't let me edit it, but I forgot to mention that I will be installing v-band clamps to make installing/removing more simple. I know the setup will fit, I am just trying to see if it'll work for now, or if you think it's too restrictive or what.

    Critique my single turbo headers

Hey, thanks for coming by, I just want some knowledgeable people to critique my headers/manifolds. I first started with a "horseshoe" setup, and run a log style manifold on my passenger side and run my turbo behind the passenger headlight. Since both attempts failed, I let the project die. I am...

    Black Friday @ Sears

I don't think they offer Repco here in the states. Matco tool has a pretty good reputation as far as racing, but I think it's safe to say almost all racing companies use one of the main tool distributors, Snap-On, Mac, etc. Now I'm not saying they are "better", I just know they they offer all...
