Here's the intercooler pics: I'm also running a water injection system. Here's where the nozzle is installed.

    Turbo Q45

LOL. There is a bit of confusion here. I should have explained the catch can setup better. The line on the right of the can goes to the air filter. The drain hose is there so I can empty the catch can as necessary. There is a small valve at the bottom of the can. These pics should clear things...

    Turbo Q45

Well, I have got the car running now. Still have to take care of little things. Here are the pics: Thanks to Lextreme for his post on the Homemade Catch Can. I put a drain hose for the Catch Can.

Some more pics: Here are all the pipes for the pre-turbo hot side. I painted them in BBQ paint, wrapped them, painted the wrap, wrapped the wrap with aluminum foil tape and then painted everything with the high temp BBQ paint. All the pre-turbo piping is .065 stainless so it should survive...

    Turbo Q45

I'm still working on the Q45 turbo project. It is taking a long time. Here are some more pics at various stages of completion. I am using modified stock manifolds as the basis for the build. This is the driver's side. Here's the passenger side manifold in the beginning stage...

    Turbo Q45

Lextreme, you do bring up some good points. The downpipe is a 4 incher that necks down to 3.5 inches. I have about 1 inch on either side of the pipe for heat wrap. I'm thinking of having it coated on the inside and outside, then wrapping it. The brackets will need some attention. I'm thinking...

    Turbo Q45

Underpromise, overdeliver. :) The 420 hp is a low estimate, it'll be more. Also, I'll be raising the boost later and would like to increase displacement possibly, so the turbo was sized with sufficient reserve capacity.

    Turbo Q45

Some more info on the setup: The car is a stock 94 Q45 with the VH45DE. I had to modify the engine bay to make space for the turbo, which is a T6 flanged Garrett T-76. I decided to stuff a big turbo in there because I will be increasing displacement in the future. As far as packaging of the...

    Turbo Q45

Hey guys. I've started work on turboing my 94 Q45. The goal is to make around 420 hp. More info here:http://turbo-infiniti.org/viewtopic.php?t=70

    Lexus Vs. Infiniti

I think the twin-turbo VH45 in the Jet boat is putting out around 800hp, this is supposed to be on stock internals and a fresh rebuild before installation. I don't have much more info on it. Here's the video:http://www.dynologic.com.au/vids/Nizpro-Speedboat-low.wmv

Here's a pic of the VH that has been sleeved and bored to 98mm. Notice the cross-ribs in the V. Also, check out this article on the VH45DE from Road & Track. http://turbo-infiniti.org/viewtopic.php?t=58

    Gt45r

That turbo looks a lot like the GT45 turbos I have seen on eBay in the States. Have you measured the compressor wheel? If it is the same turbo, then it should be around 70mm for the inducer. Am I right?

    5.6 liter DOHC V8 swap into Nissan 240sx s14

Actually, the difference between the stock iron block KA24DE and the aluminum VK56DE is not that much. I would hazard a guess and say that there might be less than 80 lbs separating them in full dress. I know that Nissan states the VK56DE weight as being ~ 228 kg. I don't know if that number...

    5.6 liter DOHC V8 swap into Nissan 240sx s14

I thought this might be of interest to the V8 fans on this board. The 2.4 liter I-4 is being replaced with a 5.6 liter VK56DE motor from the Nissan Titan pickup. http://turbo-infiniti.com/viewtopic.php?t=27&sid=1caf280042b12d3a60da5e3a06e28c94

    Infinti VH45

There is a gent in the UK that is building a 5.0 liter VH45DE with a 98mm bore. He is going to be installing the engine in a Z32 300zx. Here's a link to some pics: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/3223950

    Infinti VH45

Believe it or not, the VH45DE is stronger than the VK45DE. The VH block has more meat and it has the crank girdle that was left out of the VK block. They both share the 6 bolt main design. I spoke with a guy who took apart a VH45. He said the rods are forged and are bigger than the ones in the...

    Lexus Vs. Infiniti

Were they cast or welded? You might have seen a VH41DE from the 97-01 Q45. They have cast headers which are very restrictive. Kinda look like something from an old Chevy. The VH45DE has welded tubular headers that are okay in terms of design. They don't really have any major flow restrictions...
