Hi, I'm after a sump to suit a soarer (rear sump), don't need pick-up, oil level sensor, would like lower sump but not neccessary (may be able to repair mine). I'm in Newcastle NSW Aust. any help would be appreciated!
first you need to degas the system (by law the gas is suppose to be kept not let loose in to the air), then you need to remove the a/c pipes, wires and compressor bolts (there should be 3 of them) that hold it to the engine. Then to reassembly just do it in reverse, but you will either need...
i've got no problem getting a good engine, a mate wrote his soarer off not long ago and i'm buying the one out of it (really cheap), this engine has been pretty well looked after so hopefully i'll have no dramas
Thanks Zuffen, i'd say that there was something wrong with my engine then, or the oil pump, anyway it's stuffed know so i'd better get back to putting another one in.
Does anyone know what sort of oil pressure a 1uz should have?
My 4runner gauge said it was running about a 1/4 the way up the gauge, know the engine is dead seems like it run dry in the top end, so if anyone can help (so it doesn't happen again) i would be very appeciative.

depending on what g/box you have you can get a bell housing to suit from either castlemaine rod shop or dellow autos , just tell them what box you have and they'll send you the right bellhousing and all the other bits that go with it
Nem, i've just changed my slave cylinder because the standard one didn't throw far enough, i got one from an early model hilux (not sure what model), the part number is PBR JB4058 it has a 19.05mm bore instead of 20.64mm seems to be spot on for mine might work for you too......
All fixed now the wiring was right but the diagram we used was back to front on one of the plugs (so our wiring was back to front), it was the crown diagram from this site.
Also the ecu says that code 42 is a problem can this be fixed by putting 12v to the neutral switch wire?

I've been trying to get the fault codes out off my uzs-131 Ecu, have shorted out E1 and TE1, i've plugged an LED in the engine check light (with a +ve on the other end) and it doesn't flash, anybody got any ideas? any help much appreciated
