Any auto parts store should have anti-mold spray for ac vents. Have not tried it yet but it is not expensive, see if that helps.

How about the possibility of swapping a tranny from a 5.0 (t-5 I believe). Can be found pretty cheap in the U.S. Plus from what I understand can take a lot of power.
