Can anyone help me with the thread size and pitch of the auto tranny (341E) breather, and if possible the nut size to turn it out.... I want to extend the breather to prevent water getting in there, but its in such an awkward spot I can barely reach it let alone see it :mad:

I read that a 2UZ sump is probably the way to go. The 2UZ's in South Africa are all from Land Cruisers which means rear sumps right? IF i manage to find such a thing, would I use the 2UZ dipstick? Excuse the noob questions...

Excellent, thanks a million. Is there any way to mod the mid-sump dipstick to fit the front-sump or can I just block the hole in the alloy section of the front sump and continue to use the mid-sump dipstick?

The pump is out of a front sump engine 1uz, a LS i would assume....

Yip, I'm using an aftermarket ECU. IIRC there the 3 wires are, black, yellow, and black with a stripe....

Hi all, I'd like to swop my mid sump for a front sump. Is it a simple matter of unbolting everything, swopping pickups and then bolting the new sump on? What about the dipstick differences? Are the oil pans the same? The front sump pan I've got is pretty stuffed...

No relay, and there is power to the solenoid wire as far as i can trace it so i dont think its the ignition switch....

I should mention that its not the immobiliser or relay. The engine is fitted in a hilux so neither of those are an issue....

yes, all four are wired. I had originally thought it was the pressure solenoid that was faulty but shifts through the gears once in Drive are smooth....

When I shift from Neutral to Drive my autobox (341E) is very rough and engages with a jolt. But from Neutral to Reverse is smooth. Once I'm in drive the gearchanges are smooth. The box is not controlled by the standard controller so its not a wiring issue. One tranny shop is of the opinion...
