"Coil on plug" coils for 1UZFE

Has anybody thought about the coil-on-plug from an ES300. I just picked 3 up from a local yard because who ever pulled parts couldn't fit their hands behinds that intake. The are fit perfectly in the bore, but there is no place to really secure them down with a 10mm, however I remember someone...

    91' LS400, Need help identifying this sensor/switch

It is factory. It's in all LS400s, pre VVT-i. As it was pointed out, it's a "bi-metal vacuum switching valve"... Or bvsv as toyota calls it. Parts houses (napa, etc.) call it a ported vacuum switch. After a little research i'm pretty sure it's connected to the fuel pulsation dampened. Anyways as...

    Help with camshaft install

I am currently doing a rebuild, and I am at the camshaft stage. There are scissor gears on the exhaust cam, I can move the gears by hand, they rotate a full tooth. Is there a correct setting they should be at? Does it matter if it is set turn back a tooth or turned forward a tooth? Here is a...

    91' LS400, Need help identifying this sensor/switch

What is the baby blue sesnor/switch, I broke the vacuum fittings off by accident... Sewell doesn't seem to show this sensor. Is this the Engine temp sensor? Part #90925-05075, Does Autozone, Napa, or O'reilly's have this for cheaper or is it an OEM part...

Basic LS400 maintenance. Advice from pros please!

I am certainly no expert as I just bought my 1st LS 3 weeks ago. That being said, I have been a Lex/Toy tech for about 3 years. How skilled do you consider yourself? If you have to skill and the confidence the only thing stopping you is finance. I would personally start with drain oil, replace...

Any Gs400 Twin turbo guys here?

I don't mean to blow up other sites, but try this... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/performance/364895-makeover-time-gs400tt-upgrade-build-has-begun-pic-happy-12.html If i'm correct, I think you have to have one of the manifolds modified to able to run stock headers. However, I am sure that...

    GS300/400 engine similarities

SC300 and GS300 are the only similar 3.0 Inline 6 cylinders. ES300 and RX300 are fwd 3.0 V6s, however the V8 will not bolt up to a FWD transaxle.

NEW REBUILD ENGINE W/ BIGGER TURBO

you do know that a higher stall converter creates more heat? I'd go with a pretty big cooler, if not 2. Most run the cooler in line with the factory cooler, but in front of the radiator.

Pictures Ford mod motor with supercharger

Back from the dead... It's funny, that people state the obvious, but with no rhyme or reason. Look at the height of the SBF, it is placed lower on the stand to appear smaller. But...... if anyone checked the dimensions of the 1uz vs. 4.6 DOHC Cobra motor and the SBF 302 windsor?, they'd find...

Regular or Premuim as the debate continues?

Octane rating is basically the resistance to detenation. The higher the octane, the more you can compress the mixture without detenation or pre-ignition. However 87 octane is a little more volatile and will be a good candidate for low compression because they do not need to compress the mixture...

    rear mount turbo

The engine can create a higher flow than the oil pump can produce? At idle the engine produces 5psi or more, and at 3,000 rpm or higher it creates 43 to 85 psi... The oil pump creates the flow, engine can not. 43-85psi is more than enough for any turbo, i dont care if your line is 75 ft long...

    M112 Supercharger Fitment

Did anybody stop to think that deleting your EGR might not be the best thing? The EGR valve is designed to control combustion chamber temperatures... If that is taken out you are running a lot higher temperatures thus making your cooling system have to work harder, as well as it will break down...

new guy looking for (HP) 2001 ls430

A roots type blower would be nice, but there is no current pre fabbed manifold for a supercharger on a 3uzfe. Richwood has told me there will be a manifold on the market "soon", but not yet. Tom's kit is 11 grand. A custom intake manifold will give some gains, but like everything else for the...
