    just got my tiptronic goin

Nup, whould have been nice though. The silver bits are push buttons and they are mounted to some sheet aluminium, didnt want to drill 22mm holes through the wheel as it will make it a little weak.

    just got my tiptronic goin

Horn, LED power, up and down buttons share the same wire, all produce different resistances so my tiptronic unit can determine which button is pressed. Works just like the late model cruise and radio control buttons.

    just got my tiptronic goin

I have had tiptronic style buttons on my steering wheel for over a year, no external wires and LED backlit buttons. No batteries needed either. If the market was bigger i would sell the complete tiptronic kit. Would be very likely the tx/rx modules you are using sideshow are around 433MHz...

    Its done!! T70 with a 50mm gate.

Tractive effort is the torque at the wheels, it is the linear force acting at the surface between the tyre and the roller. Dyno manufacturers call it by differnt names. The graph posted shows the torque as seen by the load arm deep inside the dyno. That reading still has the "error" of the...

    Its done!! T70 with a 50mm gate.

The dyno used is load brake dyno with rollers. So the tyres and roller dia come into the equation. The torque in the posted graph is the torque as seen by the dyno's load arm, the other figure on the dyno sheet is the linear motive force (LMF) which is the torque acting on the rollers. LMF (or...

    1uz Fuel Economy

I get 12L/100kms around town and 8L/100kms on the highway, it is never babied either - that 1UZ sounds way too good at full noise. Car weighs 1420kgs with half a tank of fuel, has 3.9 diff and 204cm tyre rollout. Also it is using an aftermarket ECU.

    Methanol.

Dont forget the cheap cost of the fuel is quickly offset by the 6.4:1 stoich. So you need around 2.3 times as much of it compared to something like RF100 (or avgas as it was formally known), depending on your plans for the car it may be cheaper to run a petroleum fuel. RF100 is around the $350...

    Lexus powered drag car`

4VEU I think, there is also a 5VEU but this is the later 4L version. They are all pushrod V8s, all alloy still, and are pretty hard to get hold of.

    Vibration from the back end

Got a similar prob with mine (1UZ in a VL), but only a small vibration on take-off under medium to hard acceleration. Tried a number of things and have not been able to track it down, done about 10,000km and its still the same. Prob not what you want to hear! About the only thing i havn't...

    Lexus powered drag car`

There should be a TT 1UZ Soarer ready for a run this weekend at the Motorplex over here in Perth - they were thrashing it out all week to get it ready. Should be nudging 6sec quaters in a full body car once the combo is sorted, giddy up! Will get some photos and vids posted up.

    oil cooled engines?

Thermal dynamics is way out of my league, but i agree with Anaema having no thermostat can cause overheating issues. The engine takes longer to heat up but often its harder to keep the temp under control due to the higher flow. As an example a friend installed a davis craig electric pump and...

Sub O2 sensors are they needed ?

Without front O2 sensors the ECU will run in open loop only. Fuel economy will be affected and of course emissions. I am not sure how the ECU reacts to not having the rear O2s in terms of if it still allows closed loop. I play more with GM ECM/PCMs rather than Toyota's so someone else may be...

    Blown EA Flacon Pics

I agreee with Peewee but I think BlownEA was also after the features like sequential injection, sequential ignition and some other things that the stinger does but the wolf does not. But I will be sticking to my trusty wolf, after all 8L/100km with freeway driving aint that bad :) A country...

ROOTES BLOWN 1UZ in a RX7 doing BURNOUTS!!!

Sounds pretty good to me! Its not everyday you see a S4 with a blown toyota V8 in the engine bay. Does a good skid too!

Sub O2 sensors are they needed ?

The rear sensors measure the efficiency of the cat convertors. One function of a 3 way cat is storing oxygen when the AFR is lean and releasing oxygen when the AFR is rich - under 14.7:1 AFR there is no oxygen remaining in the exhaust gas. The way closed loop works is by cycling the AFR...

    1uzfe + Offspring

Ha ha! Yeah should have put an LS1 in there instead to flog all the 1UZ's! But only if you own an oil refinery :approve: Get the supercharger on there!! Also do you find the exhaust drones with large diameter pipes?? Do you have a resonator on the back?? I just added a resonator and it still...

    1UZ into HT Ute

mmm interesting, cant say ive had that problem with my wolf 3d! I *think* maybe what is happening is the crank/cam trigger is picking up the electrical noise as a trigger pulse which causes the fuel pump to run for a few seconds as it thinks you are beginning to crank. Is the trigger cable well...
