Hey Riley,
Some questions:
Are you sure that your fan is rotating in the correct direction?
Does it have reversable blades depending on whether it is in push/pull configuration? (a pull fan with shroud covering the whole radiator is the best solution)
How much of the radiator fins are...
Cheers Kelvin, I just hope that if it sells, it goes to a good home. If it won't sell for the price I'm asking, I'll keep it and tack an extra $15k on the mortgage...
Hi all,
after 5 years, I've decided to sell my Hilux. My fiancee and I are getting married in a few months, and we'll be needing some spare cash to pay the (ridiculous) costs for the wedding.
Here's a link to the auction (New Zealand)...
If you're trying to do a 1uz engine conversion on the cheap, you will end up with an unreliable and potentially unsafe finished product.
It takes a lot of skill (and trial and error) to build a good reliable conversion, so it's better to pay for a well proven solution (in this case Gloverman's...
I've found easy graphic converter is great for resizing/compressing a bunch of pictures quickly (perfect for the technologically challenged). Here's a link:

It is very easy to replace the IC regulator if the brushes and rectifier diodes are in good condition. The IC reg is a standard Nippon Denso (ND) part (common to most of their alternators) and readily available. If you type the part number into google, you'll find they're about $30USD direct...
Hi Cobber,
We've been using a vertex battery (see link) in the RX7 for the last 6 months, and it has been perfect. I think 4000GT has used two of these in parallel in his supra as well. CCA is about 400A, which is fine on the standard engine. Best of all they're cheap at about $110NZD...
Follow the main (negative) battery cable to where it's bolted to the chassis. There will also be a similar gauge cable connecting (grounding) the engine block and chassis.
Jack the front up off the ground and see if it turns freely without any contact with the ground. We had too much static friction with a steering box in the RX7 and it felt like it was jamming up (what was more noticeable though was the lack of self centering ability). This shouldn't happen with...
check your main battery connections (the large gauge conductors) and your main battery earthing point. If you have a bad connection in your main battery circuit, the problem will appear when you switch the ignition to start. The starter motor windings are very low resistance and will (attempt...
