Oil filter location on various 1UZ engines?

You can use the Z418 or a Z386. From memory, the Z386 is a little smaller. This is the fitting I had to have made to clear the chassis in my MS46 Crown. http://members.optusnet.com.au/corona2jzge/Crown%20V8%20conversion/In%20place/oil%20distribution%20block.jpg

Car of Choice for 1UZFE Swap

Corona Mk2 or an old MX32 Cressida. And we all know what I think of sleepers.

Crown halfcut - what wheels will fit?

    Ford wheels 114.3 x 5 PCD. A 14" rim might fit but I had a couple of 15"s so I used those.

    8 throttle body induction

For MAP, you run a small vacuum line from each throttle to a vacuum cannister and sense the pressure from there. This will stop the wild oscillations in pressure you would expect to get from just sensing pressure from one throttle. For AFM, you make a sealed box like a plenum. Make a big...

    8 throttle body induction

I think the silver top throttle bores are 40mm, whilst the black tops are 43mm. 40mm would be the smallest I'd go. I have a 2JZGE with ITBs and they are 48mm. With all the supporting mods, I'm hoping they will be the right size. The improvement in mid range response even on the standard...

    Maximum Compression On A 1uz-fe

You could probably go to 12:1 running 98 RON, a good aftermarket ECU (read MoTeC) and excellent tuning. If you wanted to go higher, you could use any of the racing fuels. Obviously, you would only maximise the benefits with supporting modifications (cams, intake, exhaust, etc).

    1UZFE into 1966 Toyota Crown

Well she's up and running, drove it to the exhaust place with it running straight out the manifolds - glorious. Twin 2.25" system with high flow cats, mid 90's dB. Changes gears beautifully, steers beautifully. Hopefully I'll be down at the strip next weekend to see what she runs. Looking...

    Setting pinion and engine angles

The reason why there is a slight angle introduced is that with rotation of the tailshaft and pinion, there is a natural tendency for the diff (pinion shaft) to rotate upwards under load. Leaf rear ends are looser, so they will rotate upwards more than a multilink rear end. The idea is to get the...

    Setting pinion and engine angles

Whilst many people reference pinion angle to the horizontal, it is actually the difference between the crank plane and the pinion shaft plane angles. The pinion angle you want is dependent upon the type of rear end you are running. With a leaf spring rear end you want a pinion angle of...

    adapting supra 6spd to 1uz

Just remember that the bellhousing is actually part of the gearbox case on the V160/1. As well as any machine work, you better factor in disassembly and reassembly of a fairly fancy box. http://www.turbosupras.com/images/technical/V160/gearbox%20getrag%20top%201.jpg Thanks to Jon on...

    1UZFE into 1966 Toyota Crown

Pics of rack and pinion conversion: http://members.optusnet.com.au/corona2jzge/Crown%20V8%20conversion/rack%20and%20pinion%20conversion/ As you can see it needed a bit of grinding of the sump to make clearance. Love the 240C. That's a beast.

    1UZFE into 1966 Toyota Crown

The fitment was easy enough but it is tight. There is about 15mm clearance each side of the exhaust manifolds to the chassis rails. Also the RHS bank of cylinders wanted to be intimate with the steering box, so the steering box had to come out and a VN Commodore power steering rack has gone in...

    1UZFE into 1966 Toyota Crown

One day 2 years ago, I was driving along and spotted a mint 1966 Crown Station wagon. One owner but blown head gasket. I bought it that day. Drove it home, swapped the motor over for a spare 4M and drove it around for a few months. Then I took for a drive to the country and a split hose ensured...

    Custom sumps

High Energy Oil Pans 6a Short St Dandenong 3175 (03) 9794 9075 These guys make custom sumps, but unfortunately are very Ford, Holden and Chev oriented. They didn't believe Toyota made a V8 when I spoke to them, but were prepared to have a look at the sump and have a go.

    What are you up to?

I am dropping my Crown 1UZFE into another much older Crown. It is a 1966 Toyota Crown station wagon. It's turning out to be quite a job. The mounts are pretty straight forward but unfortunately I have had to do a rack and pinion conversion to make the thing turn - the steering box wanted to...
