As u can see its a bit worse for wear. Its cracked down the side and halfway around the base so i dont think its fixable. Found one from toyota for $150 coming on wednesday, hopefully its the right part. Turned out to be an expensive mistake. Cheers Adam

I was actually taking the alternator off to get it checked out as it is draining power from the battery when the car is off. As I have had an idle pulley on my diesel sease up on me out in the sticks i thought i'd just check to see they were all spining correctly, and this particular pulley...

I disconnected the alternator and the buzz has stopped. There is a fair bit of corrosion on the motor from sitting on the docks for so long, could this just be a case of changing the brushes in the alternator or is it more major? Thanks for the quick response Adam

Roadway Exhaust in Canberra priced a set for my 90' 4Runner. They said around $120 a port, but being on apprentice wages is decided to stick with the crown headers.

Im running Autronic SMC, and am yet to get it tuned for round town and not performance. The only problem I have with the manual conversion is it seems to be geared really high, which is good for get up and go, but not good for sitting on the hi-way.

Im pretty sure there is some problem in the actual instrument panel, but my tacho only goes to 6000! which doesn't do me much good when the rev limiter is set at 6500, the speedo only goes to 160 and only the fuel gauge works.

I havent had it dyno'd yet, but is using maps from another 1uz with pretty much the same set up. It runs fine, but not perfect. When the motor was still in the half cut, it ran absolutly perfect, i was balancing 20c peieces on the top of the motor!! Because the tacho wasn't in the best...
