Mallory 685 Ignition Box. Can I use this on SC400 for Nitrous Setup?

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.

I'm getting a nitrous wet setup installed on my 92 SC400.

This Mallory 685 caught my eye because it has an RPM Window Switch built in and it can retard timing when I'm using nitrous. Then revert back to my stock timing when not using nitrous.

Would this unit work on an SC400? I only need one?

I've been doing a lot of research but an ignition box is way over my head. Do I need to change my coils(are my stock ones fine)?

Seems like this is well recommended for nitrous setups... any help for this noob would be appreciated.

Long time lurker... I'll post about my setup when it's all up and running. I'm installing one of those Nano Nitrous systems with it. Should be pretty sweet.

I'm guessing I need a tach adapter.

Would this tach adapter work for the SC400?

If not I could just go MSD.

MSD Digital Window Switch
MSD Digital 6al
MSD 8920 tach adapter.

But the Mallory has the window switch built in. Another reason I might go for the Mallory is that it has a bypass plug, if the box goes, unplug it and plug the bypass in and ignition will be as normal.

MSD or Mallory?

It seems like I need two MSD units? Would I need two Mallory's? So confused.

MSD is not reliable and the stock ignition timing is fine for spray as long as you have a good fuel pump such as a walbro 255 as the stock ign curve is not really aggressive enough to warrant timing retard unless you are going above a 150 shot?

Thanks for the input. I'm only planning on doing a 100 shot max. Should hit pretty hard with the Nano Nitrous kit anyways.

From what I've read a Supra TT fuel pump works on the SC400.

This is the fuel pump I'm going to buy. Its a denso made by kyosan.

I guess I'll just buy a window switch and be done with it. Probably the MSD Digital Window Switch.

I'll be using 1 step colder BK7RE plugs.

I'll post back when I get everything installed. :)
