lextreme did you ever figure out what was causing that prolblem.my car just started doing the same thing.it also wants to bog if you nail it then rpm fine
I had the same problem on a retro-fit 1UZ-FE into a Landcruiser FJ62. Needs the speed sensor reading off the back of the g/box. Maybe something you need to look at?
Hey, I had similar problems, I cleaned the throttle body, and also I bypassed the PS pump air hoses. Theres a hose that goes from the intake to the PS pump, and then another one going from the PS pump into the intake manifold. I looped these hoses into each other, and just got a new hose going from the intake directly to the intake manifold. Problem solved.
toyotas dont drop idle if there is no speed signal
this is a shot in the dark but my 1uz has done 230 thou kms
about every 5000 kms it starts to idle low and each morning when it starts its like it has low coompression
i cure this by doin an oil change
when my engine starts to run abit off i do an oil change and its back to goin good again
one thin gi cant explain is why in the mornings when the oil is old and crappy
it runs like no compression maybe just worn bores
it could still be your idle motor
they can be cleaned but sometimes this doesnt cure them
they have sealed bearings inside them and they seize up
try a good 2nd hand idle motor see how it goes
about 50% of idle motors i clean might stat working ok
the rest are still no good
anyway if i go oil changes evry 4 to 5 thou kms its good
