temperature switch

where on the 1990 crown 1uzfe is the temp switch ( i know it is at the front left as you stand in front of the motor facing it) and is it just a single wire or is it 2 wires.. if it is 2 wires what colour is the plug

temp switch? do you mean gauge sender, cold start switch or coolant temp sensor?

They are all in pretty much the same area. Look at the ignition coil on the top left hand side of the Idle Air control valve at the top front of the inlet manifold. They are behind/under the ignition coil, you will need to remove the coil to see them.
There are two 2 wire temp sensors, green body/ brown body. A little bit above these two is a single wire temp sensor which is used for the temperature guage.

Single wire = temp guage
Green 2 wire = ecu temp
Brown 2 wire = csi switch

It was the temp gauge switch i was after but now you mention what the others are...

does the cold start injection switch need to be hooked up...i.e i think it is black/white stripe wire goes to the group of plugs that would normally be behind the glove box... and if so is it a power or earth wire.
