I just did a Google on "Porsche 944 with 1UZ" and this page popped up:

http://wiederhold-rd.com/porsche-1UZFE.html

On this page, he's talking about a 6.0l, 48v, V12 from the Merc, but then he also refers to it as a V8.

In this page, however: http://wiederhold-rd.com/fitment.html , he's actually talking about fitting the 1UZ and shows some photos of it.

He gives his email on the first page; I'd suggest you contact him, and see what he's planned for mating the 1UZ to the Porsche drivetrain.

You might also contact Renegade Hybrids, as they have quite a history refitting Chevy motors into Porsches; perhaps they'd be interested in helping you adapt a 1UZ.

bump anyone help me out here...got folks saying yes can get an adapter and others saying no it cant be done...any links or manufactures making the adapters...cheers...

I doubt you will find anyone making an adaptor to the Porsche torque tube. It can be done, but it will be a one off and will be expensive.

Suggest you start looking for race car engineering/machining workshops. There are many in the UK but be prepared to pay.
