Has any one had any experience with dry sumping a 1UZ.

The demise of our previous engine was due to a great motorkhana course involving right hand circles, it was a blast until the engine started to 'rattle'.

With the installation of the 1UZ the centrifugal forces imposed will be a bit more than our previous 4 banger and I don't want to spin any bearings in this one.

How 'good' is the lubrication system in the 1UZ ?

I haven't had the opportunity to dismantle the sump and have a look at this stage.

In mid and rear mount sump the oil pick-up is on the right hand side (the P/S side). I don't know about front sump but logically it would be the same.

I have looked at the potential surge in my car and figure the best solution would be to deepen the sump and run a longer pick-up.

I could see a potential for surge on right hand corners. You could try overfiling the sump by 1/2 inch. Lots of race cars overfill their sumps to solve the problem. Many classes do not allow sump modifications.

Guys,

do you think that i should be concerned with my Bayliner boat install?
i might too look at deepening the sump and lowering the pick up.
i have not seen what sump i am getting as yet, but its a vvti model.
looks flat in the photo i got from the supplier.t
