$5k for an RB26?? is that engine only with no tranny?? with a tranny these go for more like $7k- $8k for an R32. if you got one with no tranny for $5k you've done well. maybe for a bare engine with no loom etc.

look for a use "edz" in this forum. guy from canberra doing a 1uz into a EH wagon i believe it is. he previously done a Commy V6 into an FJ.

the 7MGTE boys use the 1uz AFM as an upgrade in high performance modding of their engine. where do they place it? wherever it is it must be fine to have it there.

as long as all the exhaust gas runs through a cat it is fine. so either have a cat for each bank, or have a single cat just after the pipes merge into one. dont go any smaller than single 2.25" whateva you do. that is the minimum you'd want it for a single system. i'm actually doing a twin...
