Water lines to oil filter housing???

I've started my l200 1UZ conversion and the oil filter housing is so close to the frame. I've seen the plates you can use to remove the housing completely and then run a remote oil filter. But I take it there are water lines going into the housing. Do I just connect these together or blank them off??? Also what are these lines for warming the oil or cooling it ?????

Both, relocate it to where your remote filter is if the thread agrees
