Hi all,
The manual is up and running, but now i'm having a bit of trouble with the speedo. The original never worked and was going to be absurdly expensive to replace and adapt to the manual gearbox, so I purchased a VDO 100mm speedo.
The T5 came out of a 2004 BA Falcon so the transducer hole was filled in and there was no driver gear on the output shaft. I've since drilled out the transducer hole and put a gear on the output shaft, but I'm getting absolutely no signal to the speedo.
It's a 3-wire basic hall-effect sensor, but the wires are black, white and blue. Now i'm pretty sure the white is the power wire and the blue is the signal (with the black obviously being ground) but I've wired it up as per diagrams and still get nothing. I even removed the speed sensor and hooked it up to a drill to make sure it wasn't the driver gear in the gearbox, but still nothing, so I'm thinking it's either
A: The VDO Speedo is faulty and doesnt read the signal
B: The speed sensor is faulty and i need a new transducer
C: I've done something whack with the wiring.
Anyone know much about the transducers or have any bright ideas??
