Hey Gang,

Been doing more research on injector upgrade. The second gen Rx7 (86-91) have 550 cc high impendance injectors.

There are two version of the 550 cc high impedance. The S4 has the sqaure plug or Type C plug and S5 has the oval plug. I wonder if oval plug is either Type E or Type F. Our 1uzfe has Type F i believed. Here are two pictures of the injectors:

Those are direct bolt onto the 1UZ. However, if the S5 has Type F plug then it will be direct plug in. Can anyone confirm this? Here is the reference of toyota injectors.

This is what i also found:
All oval plug FC injectors are high impedience. They (ovals) are from the 89-91 Series 5 cars. The Series 4 cars (86-88) all had square type plugs. 86 cars (all 86's are NA..there were no TII's in 86) and early 87 cars had low impedience injectors. Later 87 and all 88 cars are high impedence.

Update: Found my answers. The S5 (oval) from 1989 to 1991 will be direct bolt to the 1uzfe.

If compare the 1uzfe injector and the S5 Rx7 injector, its a direct fit. Compare the below picture with the Crown and LS00 injectors or the 7MGE injectors
