Hi guys. I'm getting all the parts together to do a 1uzfe into Hiace conversion. Anyone got any hints or tips? Plus what is the differance between the LS400, SC400, and Crown engines as they seem to vary quiet a bit in price.

Talk to gloverman on this forum, he is also doing the same conversion as you, and he has done plenty of research. Your best looking for a rear sump motor though as i swapped my rear sump with gloverman and it seem to be perfect for his application.

In my experience the SC400/Soarer 1Uz's have 251cc injectors and either front(most common) or rear (rare) sumps. The Crown engines seem to have 215cc injectors and centre sumps also they have cast iron exhaust manifolds. I havnt seen an LS400 but believe them to be similar to the SC400/Soarer with a centre sump???
 
UZS131 Crown (89-90) has midsump, 220cc injectors (or 215, who knows), and tight manifolds of stainless steel (exhuast)

UZS141/UZS151 Crown (91+) has front sump, and better headers

LS400 is same as 91+ Crown

SC400 has rear sump, 251cc injectors and better headers.



They are the major diffs. There are smaller diffs too, but they are less important.
