I suspect an oem filter dating back some 17 years ago. When I open airflow with the climate system to introduce outside air it smells like it introduced me into the engine bay... lots of fumes and exhaust. I want to replace the cabin filter but don't know whats it's buried behind. I hear it's not an easy task but those are the kind I love.

Also, i am about to swap my PCV breathers over to a catch can. Anyone know if it would cut down on the smell if i routed both sides into the can with a common exit line running into a wheel well? I got a lot more smells after the egr delete, I figure it would help to divert out of the engine bay completely?

Cabin Fliter

I think, after doing some research, that you can access and clean the cabin filter by removing a door underneath the glove box on the underside of the passenger side dashboard. It's on my list of things to do, but not a priority. Let me know if you have any luck.

i m not sure if the 91 had it but my 93 u just do what he said and remove it. There is actually 2 of them. I m looking for a new one. No one in town has a generic one even advance auto, autozone and oreilly. Advanced Auto said it has to come from Lexus. The part # is Denso 453-1005.
