Lexus V8 into '98 Land Cruiser Prado LJ78

Hi,

i am considering replacing my 3.4 V6 with a Lexus V8. wanted to know what is needed to keep my current auto transmission and transfer case?

i am going with a Spitronics ECU.

The factory trans is controled by the factory ECU/ECT so when the V6 is removed the trans will not have any electronic control and will not change gear. When running Auto box I generally use the lexus Auto with factory ECU/ECT unit with the 4x4 transfer box on the back. Another way is a separate aftermarket trans control ECU which I believe spitronics do one and so does the Wolf V500 ECU(wolf is engine trans combined). Cheers

Just going off from what I read, the best move is to use the 1uz transmission. It is beefier internally than what comes in your 90 Series and can be mated up to your transfer box really easily.
