lexus bmw e30? noob

Hi guys,

First post so ill try not bore you. Im just in the process of buying a 2004 lexus v8 to go in my manual e30 325im bmw :happysad: hopeing someone on here has done the same conversion and can help. I see 340i you have done the conversion on you e21 and it looks mint, did you use a front sump v8? or middle. what gearbox did you use? w55 is what i had in mind or using my standard 5speed and making up an adaptor as they are very strong boxs.
any help would be bloody awesome, I live in chch as well if that helps

Interesting swap....You need to use the search function to find out if that swap exists, or go to the swap forum section and post this thread... Anyway, a Lexus 4.3L V8 in a small BMW...Sounds like fun.... You got the bellhousing to mate the two and do you have the instrumentation integration worked out? Which ECU will you be using? How about the Tranny signals too? Those are the areas of concern.....Motor mounts, exhaust fitment, etc...should not be too hard if you got a got a good welder...

going to use an adaptor plate availible, i will be using a link ecu to run it.
Ive talked to a computer programer and he said its an easy swap to do as the have a ecu thats specialy made for the lexus.I have a really good welder who will be doing most of the fitting

good luck tricking the ECU since it's made to run with an automatic transmission!

maybe if you trick it so it thinks the car is always in 1first geat would work?

will it be able to control de VVT-I system? (if you change your engine for a VVT-I one)

the the ecu im getting wont control vvti but thats all good because i dont plan on changing to the vvti setup at all. just want to keep it simple
